Three student jazz ensembles opened the new student concert series on Friday, October 2, 2015, at 7:30PM. Although scheduled to take place on the Terrace of the Community Wing, cold temperatures and rain took the concert into the church nave.
Free and open to the public, the performance by the Miami Jazz Combo, the Oxford Jazz Combo and the Miami University Jazz Ensemble lasted an hour and a half. Over 125 people gathered to hear the students perform along with their conductor, Dr. Jeremy Long, Professor of Saxophone in Miami's Department of Music. This inaugural student event connects the parish today with an important era in its history in the 1950s. (See the History of Holy Trinity on this web site.)
